Uganda Fying Primate Safari Highlights; 5Days

Day 1: Fly from Entebbe International Airport to transfer to Kasese Airstrip. Upon landing drive to Kibaale National Park

After an early breakfast you will start your Primate Uganda safari by transferring by flight from Entebbe International Airport to Kasese Airstrip on a scheduled Aero link flight flying over the magical scenic views of western Uganda with lush green marked by scattered settlement. You are welcomed by the mystical Rwenzori Mountains that rise to 5,109m above sea level with snowcapped peaks. Upon landing at Kasese, you embark on the drive to Kibale National Park for relaxation. After dinner, you embark on a nocturnal walk in Kibale forest to explore the nocturnal species such as the Bush babies or Galagoes and the Pottos. The night walk in the forest is also impressive to encounter.

Day 2: Do Chimpanzee Habituation

Connect to Kanyanchu Tourism Center as early as 6am to catch up with briefing before embarking on the search for chimpanzees. You catch up with them as they set out from their nests and spend the whole day with them. You have opportunities of seeing chimpanzees feed, mate, patrol, hunt, play and make pant hooting calls until they make their new nests around 7pm for another overnight. You retreat from the activity and connect to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight

Day 3: Drive to Semliki National Park. Visit the Sempaya hot springs and Batwa of Ntandi

Drive to Semliki National Park after breakfast at your lodge 78km about 2 – 3 hours’ drive. You drive passed the town of Fort Portal which is one of the organized beautiful towns of Uganda before proceeding to Bundibugyo area welcomed by the views of the Mount Rwenzori block. On arriving in Semliki National Park, you undertake the famous Sempaya Nature walk to explore the hot springs both the female and the male hot springs. The male hot spring also known as Bitente has a wider pool while the female hot spring Nyansimbi features hot boiling geyser that sprouts up to 2m high and boiling to more than 100 degrees Celsius. You can boil some plantain or eggs to have picnic bites. The walk to the hot springs also exposes to the lush flora of Semliki Forest which is an extension of Congo forest biome. The Primate species like Black and white colobus monkeys might also be viewed. Retreat from the activity and connect to Ntandi to visit the Batwa people who are initially forest dwellers that were evicted to pave way for conservation. They dance for you and tell you stories of their ancient heritage. Retire for relaxation, dinner and overnight

Day 4: Do Primate Walk in Semliki

Embark on the primate walk in Semliki Forest to explore a range of primates including Chimpanzees, Grey cheeked mangabey, Olive Baboons, Black and whote Colobus Monkeys, Blue and red tailed monkey, Central African Red colobus, De Brazza monkey, Dent’s Mona Monkey and Vervet monkeys. It is a full day exploration in the forest with sights of birds and impressive flora of Semliki forest. Retire for overnight

Day 5: Fly back from Semliki to Entebbe Airport

After your breakfast transfer to Semuliki airstrip for your flight back to Kajansi/ Entebbe depending on your back home flight details.
